It's been said that the Dipseanet began in 1937, which makes it the oldest amateur radio net west of the Mississippi.  It is not clear if the primary mode used was CW or AM, but suffice to say that after WWII, and the period of radio silence ended, the primary mode became SSB phone.  The current members of the net get together often for potlucks, campouts, potlucks at campouts, silent movies, lunches and breakfasts.  Check the UPCOMING EVENTS page or the CALENDAR page for upcoming gatherings.  The only requirement for membership to the Dipseanet is participation, so if you have a General Class license or higher, join us at 8am and/or 4pm, (5pm during DST), any day of the week on 3940 kilocycles.  If you are one of those unlicensed listeners, surprise us sometime by showing up to an event and introduce yourself.  73!
